Outdoor Activities
Whether you have got an interest in antiquities, wildlife or the races you’ll find something on offer. East Lothian provides a great diversity of landscapes for walking, cycling and horse riding, with miles of beautiful coastline and rugged cliffs to the north and east, Lammermuir Hills to the south and a spread of farmland, woods and rivers in between. You could opt to walk part of the John Muir Way, a long distance walk that takes in the full cost of East Lothian and links Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders. The route is named in honour of the conservationist and founder of America’s National Parks, who was born in Dunbar in East Lothian in 1838.
